Visiting Fellow
|
| Dr. Shan received an M.D. in 1990 from the Medical School at Shandong
University, China and a Ph.D in 1999 from Wakayama Medical College,
Japan. He worked as a gastrointestinal surgeon in China and as a pathologist
in Japan. His research interest is in understanding the molecular
mechanism(s) of breast cancer. In 2000, Dr. Shan joined the Chemical
Carcinogenesis Section, LEC, as a postdoctoral fellow where he is
currently working to find the genes responsible for carcinogenesis
in the mammary gland, including genes affecting growth and differentiation.
He is also studying the signaling pathways in chemically-induced rat
mammary gland cancers and in cell lines. |
