Elizabeth G. Snyderwine, Ph.D. -
Section Chief
Dr. Snyderwine obtained a Ph.D. in pharmacology from East Carolina
University School of Medicine in 1984. She was a postdoctoral fellow
in environmental toxicology at Johns Hopkins University School of
Hygiene and Public Health prior to joining the Laboratory of Experimental
Carcinogenesis in 1986 as a Guest Researcher. She became a Senior
Staff Fellow in in the laboratory in 1990 and was tenured as a Principal
Investigator in 1994. She is currently Chief of the Chemical Carcinogenesis
Section. Her research expertise and interests include xenobiotic metabolism
and DNA adduct formation, mutagenesis, mammary gland carcinogenesis,
and the heterocyclic amine food carcinogens.
